Chocolate and Peanut Butter Cookies

After toothpaste, cookies are Baby Green's favourite treat. So, for his second birthday we made him these delicious cookies and served them up with some home-made mint ice-cream.  Mmmm. I have been experimenting with 'healthy' cookie recipes, and, well, they don't really exist. This recipe is as healthy as it gets, for now at least, and much better than the usual fare.

A Chilli Night (With Chocolate)

Ok, so - full disclaimer - there is no chocolate. The reference in the title should actually be to cocoa but that sounds less alluring, and I wanted to get your attention for a minute. And if I still have it, I'd like to propose a recipe for a bowl of comforting, filling and nutritious chilli.

Sprouted Flour Loaf

I am using sprouted flours in this recipe as I like using whole grains and have found these flours to be very cooperative when baking. The sprouted flours do not seem to have the 'heaviness' that I have noticed in my endeavours using unsprouted wholegrain flours.

Artichoke Truffle Pate & Roasted Aubergine

These open sandwiches are fairly straightforward to prepare, quick in the making and delicious. I like the recipe combination so much that I decided to include the artichoke pate and the roasted aubergine recipes in the same post to underline the combination - although of course either is very tasty on its own.

A Smoother Run

In this section I will cover what I have found to work nutritionally and reflect on training and competing in endurance and high and low intensity sports. I will aim to compile an evolving catalogue of foods for before, during and post training, what I eat prior to training or a competitive event, as well as what I carry/consume during and what I have found works for recovery.

Lemon Cured Courgette

This turned out to be a great weekend lunch that all three of us enjoyed. It was crisp outside so as much we wanted to bask in the sun, we had to dine indoors.
